Joy, such a short three letter word which means so much. Today I’ve realised it all over again…
A good friend mentioned this morning how one of his greatest desires are to get back his joy in life. No money in the world can buy it.
Tonight at church a guy prayed for Anika, and when he prayed specifically for joy in her life, I realised all over again how precious joy is. When I look at Anika, I don’t see her wheelchair, I see her smile, I hear her laughing from her stomach and I see joy in her eyes. And it’s priceless. Of all people, she has a very good reason to be grumpy, depressed, sad, mad… but what is she? She is happy, determined, joyful, friendly (although a little shy), inspiring, positive and has a great sense of humor.
But where does it come from, this joy of hers?
“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning” (Psalm 30:5)
The joy of the Lord is her strength! And my greatest desire for her is that her joy will have no limit or end!
May we all seek the presence of the Lord and be filled with joy – every morning!
New mercies every morning, Grace for every day, New hope for every trial, And courage all the way. —McVeigh
