Direction… hmmm… anybody who knows me will tell you that I don’t struggle with direction, I have NO direction at all! So when I end up somewhere I was not supposed to be, it’s usually by mistake!
The other day I realised that wrong directions does not ALWAYS end up being a bad thing. Sometimes wrong directions can be useful.
My husband attended a session at church the other day and someone there told a story about a guy (who had a passion for spreading the Word of Christ) who always told people that he is going to “Rustenburg” for the weekend (by the way, I AM pregnant and have ‘baby brain’ so it might have been another town!). Then afterwards they would hear that he was actually in “Polokwane” or “Ellisras” or “Lydenburg”. When they asked him why he never went to “Rustenburg” as he said, his answer was always “I tell everybody that I’m going to Rustenburg – just for in case the devil is listening – then while he is waiting for me there in “Rustenburg”, I can peacefully spread the Word everywhere else I go!”
So yes, tell the devil to go somewhere else and go do your thing!
… in the meanwhile, I think I must still rather use my GPS when I go somewhere, just in case I end up in “Rustenburg” by mistake and we all know who is waiting there now 🙂
PS: (Just in case you live in Rustenburg and want to move away now…) This is a piece of fiction. All places are products of the author’s imagination or are used fictitiously. Any resemblance is entirely coincidental. 😉
