Sometimes, we are so busy with the things of God, that we forget about the God of things.
When one of my dearest friends said this many moons ago, I listened, but I don’t think I ever really heard… We tend to get so caught up in the ‘things’ we do ‘for God’. Next time you help to organise that charity event, go to that retreat/camp or help out at church – ask yourself “Am I busy with the things of God, or the God of things?”
I think if you do the things of God because you are in ‘tune’ with the God of things it’s perfectly fine, but the other way around…. I don’t think so!
So take a step back – what are you spending your time on, your energy on. I think once in a while we all need to refocus.
Go and crawl up onto His lap, lay against His chest and feel His heartbeat. If you got that right, only then, can you start to think about all the “things” you can go and do!

Hi there
I came across your site while searching for pictures, and lo and behold I found one that actually portrays what I’m trying to say.
I fully second your message. I often came to God, repenting everytime, going about learning and trying to live for Him. But everytime I would fall back into old habits, even regressing lower than the point that I started out at originally.
I recently came to understand why. Its is because I always did it as a head-exercise, and for the wrong reasons. Now, after finally coming to God because I want to put Him first in everything, I truly feel that He has met me halfway.
Thank you for editorialising it for me.
Now I have a huge gavour to ask…..could I possibly use the picture you have here. I want to utilise it for Christian designs I’m making to print on t-shirts. Your picture is exactly what I need.
Please consider, and let me know
