Sometimes in life, you so desperately want to say the right words to someone in need of encouragement. You want to really inspire them by saying something memorable… and then you realise that nothing you say will make any difference. Nothing you say will change their circumstances, their aching hearts or their outlook on life.
Tonight during class at church, we spoke about “that look”, that look someone gives you, and you can just feel – as if you can touch it – the love of Christ shining from the eyes of the person looking at you. That look outweighs – by far – any words that any person could ever say.
Tomorrow I have a divine appointment with a friend, and instead of uttering 10 000 useless words, I really hope that I can shut my mouth and listen, and look into her eyes with the love of Christ shining right into her spirit, because THAT, is worth more than words could ever say.
May we aim to become more Christ-like every day, so that others can see Him, and long to know Him more, because they see Him living in us!
