As I was looking at the picture of the birds, and I realised that when your circumstances in life are different to everybody (or almost everybody) else’s, then you get different types of approaches or treatment from them.
Just like the birds on the picture, some will just turn around, keep a straight face, and look away. It’s easier for them to just avoid the situation.
Others will turn their back on you, but still look back at you – secretly peeking to see how you cope – out of curiosity, ‘just checking in’ once in a while.
Some people look at your situation but they don’t really SEE… even if they think they do.
But then, you get those special ones, who look you straight in the eye, they face you, even if it’s hard for them. Even if they don’t always know how to respond to your situation, how to handle it. Those who are always there for you, those who face your divinely different life with you and help you to cope… even if they don’t realise it!
I’m blessed to have MANY different birds in my life who face my challenges with me. Even if it’s just listening to the same old story again and again or celebrating something small (which is BIG for me).
I’m showered with and covered in feathers of love, acceptance, care and friendship 🙂
… luckily the not-so-nice ones are few and far between!
